Polo inteligente

Por algunos problemas técnicos (¡maldita conexión de Internet!), esta semana welovepolo.blogspot.com ha tenido poco movimiento en su redacción virtual. Sin embargo, en el aire siempre habrá un mail, un sistema que parece más sencillo para la comunicación que los comentarios del blog.
Por eso, repetimos la consigna: ¿Quién le parece que es el polista más inteligente? Nuestra dirección de mail es welovepolo@gmail.com. A continuación, incluimos dos respuestas llegadas a nuestra casilla en un debate que asoma como muy interesante. La primera, en inglés: sí, porque nuestro blog es internacional.

1. “Segun mi opinion, el mas inteligente es Bartolome Castagnola, ya que de la nada y sin estirpe, sin apellido, logro un lugar entre los mejores. Eso denota astucia, capacidad, proyecto y talento. Ademas tiene la lucidez de tener los pies sobre la tierra, y entereza de no dejarse avasallar, imponer sus ideas, y ser incisivo en sus respuestas”.

2. Hello Sr. Beer,
I always read your columns on Polo Toucan and occasionally your blog. I enjoy them and it is helping me to learn Spanish. But I will save you from my poor skills and write this note in English. I hope you read English, better than I can write Spanish :)
Regarding your blog on intelligence of polo players, while I imagine that the very best polo players must have above average IQs simply to run their stables and to organize themselves, I also think it is processing speed that differentiates the good from the phenomenal. Processing speed is the rate at which a person thinks, assesses and makes decisions.
I've watched all the teams play in Palermo and I would bet Bautista Heguy has the fastest processing speed of all the players. His ability to react is instantaneous.
I think processing speed is more important then intelligence, and almost as important as athletic ability and quality of horse.
